Barbara was one of my favourite people . She welcomed me into her family with open arms.
She was a kind , sweet caring lady, incredibly intelligent.
I shall forever remember our Christmas festivities, and the fun games she thought of for us all to play. My favourite was ,write a caption or as many as you could on a card that had been carefully chosen by Barbara.
She will remain in my thoughts and my heart for ever.
Rest in peace Barbara. Love Terri x

Dear Babs,
I was privileged to get to know you a little bit, towards the end of your super-long innings. I remember the times when Karen and I, at the end of a hot, hard DIY day at Blandford House, would be drenched in sugar-soap, paste, wood-shavings, paint and more. We’d shower it all off, come downstairs clean, fresh and starving. We’d all share a hearty kebab, pizza, cider, wine and afterwards you’d sneak in a few chocolates; your personal rebellion against diabetes.
You were always so keen to learn about things, people, the World, your friends. Your witty poem still makes me chuckle now. Thanks to your generosity (M&S voucher!) each time I sit down to eat, with shiny tools beside me, there’s a little reminder of “The Babs”
